SBA Culvert and V-Ditch Clearing (OM-DFD-2026-012)

The California Department of Water Resources is seeking a contractor for the SBA Culvert and V-Ditch Clearing project, identified as OM-DFD-2026-012. This routine maintenance effort is located in Livermore, Alameda County, specifically along the South Bay Aqueduct between mile markers 3.25 and 16.33. All work and equipment must remain within the DWR right-of-way. The project is classified as a Categorical Exemption Class 1 under CEQA Section 15301, as it involves existing facilities and is expected to have no environmental impacts. The scope of work involves cleaning multiple culverts on both the primary and secondary sides of the aqueduct. Contractors will clear upstream openings using hand tools or backhoes, push removed material into the v-ditch, and utilize a road grader to spread and shape the drainage. To ensure the culverts are clear of sediment and debris, a hose and pump will be used to inject high-pressure raw water from the upstream side to mimic natural flow.
