In the Alaska region, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) has built three new communications sites, called Remote Fixed Facilities (RFFs), in support of the Rescue 21 effort. The three new RFF communications sites will provide critical search and rescue communications capabilities in priority areas currently without USCG communications coverage. The RFFs have a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system that is being implemented as part of a new power plant and facility design. This SCADA system shall use Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This RFI seeks to solicit feedback from industry regarding whether the USCG's SCADA Implementation Performance Work Statement (PWS) is clear and comprehensive or narrow in its summation of associated efforts.
