The General Services Administration (GSA), Region 2 in New York, is set to launch a new Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) called the Science Schedule, anticipated to commence in 2011. This schedule offers an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for a five-year period, allowing contractors to provide professional scientific research and development services to various federal civilian and military agencies. The contract will include firm fixed pricing based on contractors' commercial market rates and fee schedules. The scope covers a broad range of scientific disciplines including natural sciences such as physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth and ecological sciences, life sciences/biology; social sciences including anthropology, economics, geography, sociology, and political science; cognitive sciences like computer science, neuroscience, linguistics, psychology, and philosophy; as well as formal and applied sciences spanning agronomy, architecture, military science, statistics, health sciences, mathematics, avionics, and photonics. This open and continuous solicitation encourages qualified companies and subject matter experts interested in innovative science, technology, and analysis, particularly those aligned with federal R&D projects and the Green Services Revolution, to submit their contact details and capability statements to the contracting officers, Tony Zaza and Brandon J. Budman. Though award of a MAS contract does not guarantee work, it provides an efficient and cost-effective way for federal agencies to procure specialized scientific services. Applicants are urged to include detailed contact information and their areas of scientific expertise when responding. The solicitation is posted under the title "Scientific Research and Development Services" with NAICS code 541712 and aims to streamline access to professional services supporting federal research initiatives.
