AI Contract Overview
The contract covers the procurement of 186 units of Grade 8 carbon and alloy steel hexagon head cap screws, specified under MIL-DTL-1222J, with part numbers 0.50013UNC2A1.250T1G8SEB and M1222RN8C220GHLN. These fasteners must meet stringent quality and technical requirements outlined in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, including dimensional compliance with ANSI B18.2.1 and self-locking features per MIL-F-18240. Packaging, marking, and inspection are governed by military standards such as MIL-STD-129 and MIL-STD-1916, with careful attention to product verification testing (PVT) and certificate of conformance documentation confirming adherence to material and quality standards, including mercury-free certification. Delivery is to be made FOB origin to DLA Distribution in Norfolk, Virginia within 162 days from the contract date, with no allowance for quantity variance. The contract also mandates the removal of government identification from rejected supplies and requires inspection and acceptance at origin. Critical characteristics for these fasteners include thread specifications, dimensional tolerances, and locking device features, ensuring suitability for high-reliability defense applications. The acquisition method codes confirm the parts are suitable for competitive procurement with a complete data package, and all packaging must comply with both ASTM D3951 and DLA-specific requirements with palletization per DLA packaging directives.
