Full Description

The Air National Guard (ANG) A4 has a requirement for Security Forces (SF) equipment and supplies. This equipment will be used by Security Forces units to outfit additional defenders and logistics details (LOGDETS) with the standardized equipment. The ANG will need to supply all locations throughout the ANG. This requirement is for security equipment identified as critical needs over several years by the councils during Weapons and Tactics (WEPTAC) and Domestic Capability Priorities (DCP) Conferences. Due to this, ANG purchased the items in attachment 1 for the ANG SF Enterprise. After determining the Regular Air Force did not have these available for ANG SF we had to look for other options. Many Air Force purchases were made without including the ANG in either equipping or establishing a contract vehicle for ANG to purchase the same equipment. Because of this ANG had to find their own solutions to meet requirements. Additionally, some items were not being used by the Air Force due to their different configuration systems or missions and would not be cross functional with already fielded ANG SF equipment. Future total force enterprise buys should be offered with the ability for ANG to purchase via the same contract; but historically we have needed to field requirements based on identified capability gaps and commercial solutions when an enterprise option is not available.
