The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) plans to negotiate a sole source contract with Rigaku Americas Corporation for a one-year renewal service agreement on specialized X-ray detector and generation system equipment located at Research Triangle Park, NC. This equipment, which includes components such as the 007HF generator, AFC11 goniometer, Saturn92 CCD detector, X-Stream cryo systems, VariMax Mirror System, and a Haskris water-to-water chiller, was primarily designed and built by Rigaku MSC, making Rigaku Americas Corporation the only known provider capable of servicing these systems. The semiconductor chiller is an exception but included in the package. The procurement will leverage Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 12, is not expected to exceed $100,000, and falls under the NAICS code 811219. While this is a sole source action based on the unique nature of the equipment and services required, the Government is open to considering any interested parties who can demonstrate their capabilities within 10 days of the announcement. Responses received during this period may prompt a competitive procurement, but the decision to forego competition rests solely with the Government. If no qualified alternative sources emerge, the contract will be awarded to Rigaku Americas Corporation. Questions and capabilities submissions are to be directed to NIEHS Contract Specialist Brian D. Moyer or Contracting Officer Stephen L. Cannon via the provided contact details.
