The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Global Health Center (GHC) intends to issue a modification to existing purchase order 75D30123M17407 on a sole source basis to Cepheid, 904 East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089, to add additional lab instruments to the existing maintenance service agreement.

The authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 12.102(a).

Maintenance service contractor Cepheid manufactures the GeneXpert instruments and is the sole source provider for maintenance service agreements to maintain the functionality of these instruments. As the original equipment manufacturer, only Cepheid has access to the proprietary technical specifications, parts, and calibration protocols required to properly service the instruments, and using a non-authorized provider would risk compromising instrument performance and the reliability of diagnostic test results. Therefore, Cepheid is the only responsible source capable of providing these maintenance services.

As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on sam.gov.  We will issue only one solicitation to the identified entity. However, responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice by providing a capability statement to the Contracting Officer by the closing date of this posting. The Contracting Officer will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Inquiries shall be sent to Liubov Kriel by email at vyh1@cdc.gov and reference solicitation #2026-Q-95500 on the subject line.

59--CIRCUIT CARD ASSEMB, IN REPAIR/MODIFICATION OFThe U.S. government, through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, plans to award a sole-source contract to L3HARRIS MARITIME SERVICES INC. for the repair of a specific circuit card assembly identified by NIIN 7H-5998-015389217 and part number 10-4725-C1, used in sub propulsion systems. This item is critical to military operations, and the government has determined that L3HARRIS is the original equipment manufacturer and the only viable source capable of performing the repair, with no available technical data or rights held by the government to permit procurement from alternate suppliers. The contract will cover seven units to be delivered to DLA distribution centers in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and Tracy, California. The procurement is authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302, and no competitive bidding is anticipated unless another qualified source submits a valid Source Approval Request, which will not delay the process. The contract is set for a one-year duration with UID requirements and Buy American Clause compliance, and will be executed under FAR Part 15 procedures, excluding commercial item acquisition policies. The solicitation, numbered N0010426QYABZ, is anticipated to be released on August 5, 2026, with responses due by September 3, 2026, and an award expected by September 18, 2026.
