Description The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Advanced Technology Center (ATC) plans to procure on a sole source basis the services of BD Biosciences, 2350 Qume Drive, San Jose, CA 95131-1807 to provide a service agreement/maintenance service for Government owned Becton Dickinson Equipment LSRII No Lasers, s/n H47100217, Laser Sapphire 488-50 Blue, no s/n 4444, COHR Compass Green, 315M-150, no s/n 4445, Violet Laser 50 MW, no s/n 5302, High Throughput Sampler, s/n U30100404. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract. Period of Performance: Period of Performance shall be for twelve (12) months from 28 February 2010 through 27 February 2011. This instrument is located at the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Center for Cancer Research (CCR) Vaccine Branch (VB) located in Bldg 41, Bethesda, MD 20892. Contractor shall perform two (2) preventive maintenance inspections during the contract period. Service shall be performed by technically qualified factory trained personnel. Service shall include emergency service and replacement parts. The Contractor, BD Bioscience designed and fabricated the instrument. BD only authorizes their own employees to service BD-manufactured instruments. BD Biosciences has many trained service representatives in the immediate area in order to provide fast response times on service calls. These representatives are uniquely qualified as they are trained by the manufacturer and the manufacturer provides frequent updated continuing education for them. They are the only qualified company to provide software and hardware upgrades. BD Biosciences also keeps a full inventory of parts in their warehouse that can arrive on-site by the following morning to replace items that cannot immediately be repaired and returned to service. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the NCI Office of Acquisitions on or before 11:00 AM EST on February 10, 2010. No electronic capability statements will be accepted (i.e. email or fax), an original and one copy must be sent to the NCI Office of Acquisitions at the address stated above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
