The Shadow Control Legacy Transceiver Replacement project aims to replace obsolete General Dynamics GRT/GRR-23/24 and GRC-171 transceivers that can no longer be maintained due to unavailable circuit cards. The objective is to procure 32 new software-defined radios to maintain critical communication with military aircraft in local operations areas and coastal regions. These units must support AM/FM frequencies from 30-512 MHz, feature a 100W high power RF transmitter, and be fully compatible with the existing Cornet Communications Suite and AFRL Rome Touch-Radio Control System without requiring hardware or software changes. The procurement is divided into five projects across four Oregon locations, including Hamaker Mountain, Round Mountain, Adams Hill, and Kingsley Field, with two additional units held as spares. The selected vendor must provide a two-year comprehensive warranty, 24/7 technical support, and detailed operation and maintenance manuals. Additionally, the vendor is required to train at least two maintenance personnel on the installation and operation of the new equipment. Performance verification will be conducted by Shadow maintenance personnel prior to final acceptance.
