The services were somewhat restored with the use of multiple less powerful devices. This temporary solution stabilized the services, but will not be able to maintain the demand for very long. If this solution fails, there is currently no other backup system. The SIPRNet system uses Cisco products. In order to upgrade our current SIPRNET Cisco system, the government requires Cisco or an authorized partner to fulfill the requirement. An authorized Cisco vendor, Iron Bow Technologies, was contacted and confirmed to the government they can fulfill the requirement. Iron Bow Technologies is also a vendor on the AFWAY website. In accordance with AFMAN 33-153, Information Technology (IT) Asset Management (ITAM), AFWAY is a mandatory source for all Air Force IT requirements. All responsible sources that currently have contracts on AFWAY may submit a quotation which shall be considered. Responses must be received by 11/06/2016 at 12:00 PM PST. Point of contact is A1C Charlie Urrabazo and can be reached via email at charlie.urrabazo@us.af.mil.
