The Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), in collaboration with the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD), organized a Small Business Information Forum Initiative (SBIFI) aimed at supporting small businesses within the defense acquisition landscape. Held on January 12, 2016, this event was designed to provide timely and relevant information focused on enhancing small business engagement and understanding in acquisition processes. The forum featured a presentation titled "Necessity of Trusted Knowledge in Your Recruitment and Training Process," led by Jaime Quarnoccio, a Lead Local Veteran Employment Representative, to help attendees identify valuable resources for improving their human resources functions and business success. The event took place at the Partnership III Building in Orlando, Florida, and was scheduled for one hour in the morning. While RSVPs were not required, organizers encouraged the submission of questions in advance to tailor the presentation to industry interests. Due to limited parking at the venue, attendees were instructed to use an alternate parking lot nearby. Tara Wagner served as the primary point of contact for the event, offering assistance and further information as needed. This initiative reflects the Department of Defense’s commitment to fostering small business participation within its acquisition programs, specifically targeting sectors aligned with the NAICS code 541330 (Engineering Services).
