The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization is organizing a Vendor Outreach Session on December 15, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Washington, DC, at the Homeland Security Acquisition Institute located at 90 K Street NE, Suite 1200. This event offers small business vendors the opportunity to engage in pre-scheduled 15-minute meetings with Small Business Specialists from various DHS procurement components, as well as Prime Contractor Small Business Liaisons from large DHS contractors. The sessions aim to provide small businesses with a chance to present their capabilities and learn about upcoming procurement opportunities. There is no fee for participation, however, vendors must register in advance starting December 8, 2016, at noon Eastern Time. Detailed instructions for registration and the full schedule of FY 2017 sessions are available online. Participants should plan logistics carefully, as the venue requires government-issued photo ID for entry and visitor names must be submitted 48 hours prior, preventing last-minute substitutions. Parking is available nearby at a modest fee, and convenient lodging options are provided close to the venue. Additionally, there is a contingency plan in case of inclement weather, with event cancellation if a federal two-hour delayed opening is issued by OPM. Point of contact for the event includes the VOS Program Manager and support staff at DHS for further inquiries. This initiative is part of DHS’s ongoing commitment to support small businesses in accessing federal contracting opportunities.
