Snap On Torque Wrench

This contract is a five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity agreement for the procurement of the Snap-On Industrial Torque Wrench, 1" Drive Adjustable Click Type (200-1000 ft-lb), part number QD5R1000A. The total quantity to be purchased ranges between 17 and 60 units over the contract period. This wrench is specifically intended for torqueing the rotor head mast nut on the MQ-8C Unmanned Aircraft System to a precise torque range of 750-800 ft-lbs. The torque wrench was developed exclusively by Snap-On Industrial at their own expense and is commercially available through Snap-On and its resellers. The wrench is fully integrated into the NAVAIR tool control program, being listed in the tool control manual and having a designated spot in the tool box layout for the MQ-8C. Any substitution with a different vendor or part number would necessitate updates to tool control manuals and tool box configurations. It is a calibrated instrument with established Navy calibration procedures already in place and supported by NSWC Corona, with its details included in METRL. Selecting an alternate torque wrench would require new calibration procedures and entries, which underscores the importance of maintaining this specific part number for operational consistency and compliance. The contract is managed by NAVAIR Warfare Center Aircraft Division with the primary contact available at the Joint Base MDL in New Jersey.
