Snow water equivalency sensors for SNOTEL

(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) This solicitation number AG-7482-S-14-0003 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) , and the acquisition procedures at FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures are being utilized. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, based on technical specifications, past performance and price. (iii) This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-76 effective 25 August 2014. CLIN 001 Snow Scale SSG3000-4-20 mA QTY 3 EA (or equivalent) (vi) Description of Requirements: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has a need for three fluidless snow water equivalency sensors to replace the currently used fluid snow pillows in the SNOwpack TELemetry (SNOTEL) network meeting the following minimum specifications: - Measurement Range: 0...110 inches SWE - Resolution: .1 inch - Accuracy: 1% full scale - Operating Temperature: -40....80 deg. C - Fluidless - No more than 200 lbs. total weight - Compatible with Campbell Scientific data logger - Output in Volts or 4-20 milliamps - Linear correlation from V or mA to SWE - Measuring Surface Area: no more than 7 meters sq - Accurate measurements if mounted on surface with slope of up to 5% incline - Power Requirement: No more than 70 mA, 10 - 30 VDC power supply (vii) Date(s) and Place(s) of Delivery and Acceptance.
