The Securities and Exchange Commission (Commission) intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for contractors to fulfill the Commission's need for software that will enable Commission staff to use XBRL and other interactive data in their review, reporting, and analysis activities. The Commission seeks to acquire software products that (1) process and store interactive data received by the Commission in a format that makes the data accessible to end-user applications and (2) provide end user tools that can be used by Commission staff to facilitate regulatory activities. It is the Commission's intention to award one or more contracts to one or more contractors. Contractors may respond to all or part of the RFP and may respond jointly with one or more contractors. Details will be provided in the RFP. It is essential that products offered for consideration be capable of ready implementation with minimal delay following award. The Statement of Work (SOW) for software products and implementation services will be released on the FBO website once the RFP is released for competition. The formal RFP is anticipated to be released on or about 18 December 2009.
