The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) intends to enter into a single source contract with Apple, Inc. for the procurement of Apple Products during the 2024-2025 fiscal year, with an estimated value not exceeding $125,000. This procurement is not a competitive bidding process but a notice of the agency’s decision to contract directly with Apple, which is recognized as the sole provider of Apple Products to private and public K-12 educational institutions across the United States. The contract encompasses a range of Apple offerings, including hardware, software, services, and customized products (CTO Products) that are available exclusively through Apple’s direct sales channels to educational institutions. The justification for this single source approach is based on Apple's unique position as the only authorized supplier for Apple Products in the K-12 education sector, ensuring consistent access to standard and customized products, support, and training. The contract details specify that the procurement is aligned with applicable Florida statutes and rules governing such acquisitions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a direct purchasing relationship with Apple. The solicitation was posted on August 23, 2024, with a response deadline of September 16, 2024, and the primary contact for inquiries is Kim Whitwam.
