SOLICITATION NUMBER: SP3300-14-Q-0110 SYNOPSIS: This is a Sole Source synopsis published for informational purposes only. This proposed action is for the procurement of Single Disk Hoist Brake Assemblies for use at DLA Distribution Susquehanna Pennsylvania in New Cumberland, PA 17070. The following item is a component of an Intelligrated crane system: Item 0001 - 10 Each. Intelligrated Single Disk Hoist Brake Assembly, part number 1703650. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 13.106-1. Intelligrated is the only source that can provide the components for its crane systems due to the proprietary nature of the overall crane system. The required components are braking mechanisms that must match exactly to the specifications of the Intelligrated crane. Intelligrated manufactures the specific hoist brake for use with the cranes it manufactures. Any attempt to develop an alternate source to provide the components, if possible, would result in a substantial cost to the Government. The cranes require the Intelligrated parts due to compatibility (form, fit, function, and safety) issues and these parts are the only known parts that will maintain the crane at a fully operational and safe status. As a result of the above, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and 13.106-1, the Contracting Officer has determined that it is in the Government's best interest to conduct this acquisition by limiting sources based on the use of a sole source specification. This proposed procurement will be a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 333923 Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist, and Monorail System Manufacturing. Size standard is 500 employees. The proposed source is INTELLIGRATED SYSTEMS, 7901 INNOVATION WAY, MASON, OH 45040-9498. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation which shall be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may respond by submitting the company's qualifications/capabilities to provide the packing materials specified above. Responses are due no later than 3:00 PM EDT on Wednesday August 27, 2014. If no affirmative responses are received by 3:00 PM EDT, Wednesday August 27, 2014 to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, a purchase order will be negotiated and awarded to INTELLIGRATED SYSTEMS.
