Full Description

The Government hereby issues its notice of intent to sole source to John Hopkins University to maintain National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification at the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), EMT-I and Paramedic levels. The services provided ensure that the ICE EMTs and Paramedics maintain all certifications and training required for the mission. This procurement is a sole source to John Hopkins University; since, the incumbent has been performing this effort under an existing Task Order which provides these EMT services to ICE. The Basic has expired; thus; the effort is currently being competed. This requirement will not exceed a one year period; since, it only serves as a bridge until the new Requirements Contract is awarded. Absent this effort, critical training of ICE EMT and Paramedics would result in lapse in their certification which would cease all operations and training. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. John Hopkins University can provide the requested NREMT certification service without substantial duplication of cost and delays to the Government. No solicitation document is available and telephone, fax, or e-mail requests will not be honored. This requirement is under the SAT and will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures contained in FAR 13.106-1(b).
