Solid State 352-MHz/200kW RF Power Amplifier The Advanced Photon Source is considering procurement of thirteen 352-MHz/200kW cw solid state rf power amplifier systems to supply power to a synchrotron light source electron accelerator. Delivery of the first unit is anticipated to be no later than June 2021. Basic system specifications are shown below: Operating frequency: 352MHz RF power output: 200kW cw maximum RF Input for full power output: +2.5dBm RF power output bandwidth. 0.1dB: +/- 1MHz from center frequency Operating class: AB linear Output devices: LDMOS Design: user-serviceable modular amplifiers, utilizing high-efficiency rf combining techniques to achieve 200kW output power. System is to have sufficient redundant power capacity to allow continuous full power output with 10% of modules in failed state. Harmonic output = < -40dBc at 200kW output power Spurious output: < -60dBc at 200kW output power, 352MHz +/- 10MHz RF phase variation over 10-90% output power: 5 degrees maximum Maximum group delay over bandwidth: 50ns RF output flange: WR2300 waveguide Efficiency, AC line to RF output: 55% minimum Cooling: Deionized water, supplied at 90'F temperature, 120psi pressure, in contact with copper or stainless steel only. Heat loss to air limited to 5kw. Single AC power input: 480 volts AC/60Hz/3-phase/4-wire Internal control and monitor electronics: Provides amplifier and module-level protection interlocks, and performance and fault tracking. Provides local control/monitor and control capability, and Ethernet connectivity to communicate with external computer network in EPICS protocol. 2 Physical size: 12 feet wide, 7 feet deep, 7 feet tall. The following figures depict an installation of four 200kW rf systems utilizing a mezzanine:

RFP 7-B164-P-00002-00 (RR GC BPA FY27)
Solicitation # 7-B164-P-00002-00
Solicitation 7-B164-P-00002-00 is a request for a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide general contractor services for Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and other directed sites within Will and DuPage Counties, Illinois. The scope of work includes on-demand modifications, repairs, construction, alterations, and installations encompassing architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. The contract is structured with a one-year base period and two one-year options, with work executed via individual firm fixed price task orders. These task orders are generally expected not to exceed 350,000 dollars each, with an estimated annual volume of approximately 50 task orders. The potential aggregate value per BPA ranges from 500,000 dollars to 4 million dollars. Award selection will be based on a best value trade-off methodology, prioritizing the highest technically acceptable proposal with the lowest evaluated cost, provided the offeror and its subcontractors demonstrate a record of good safety performance. Key requirements include the submission of payment and performance bonds totaling 4 million dollars within 10 days of the contract effective date, compliance with Buy American and Davis-Bacon regulations, and the use of LCPtracker for certified payrolls. While not set aside for small businesses, the NAICS code is 236220. Proposals must be submitted electronically to Nick Hitzler by 3:00 P.M. on November 11, 2026.

Chain Reaction Innovations - Energy Technology Innovation
Solicitation # 6-BB47-P-00203-00
The Chain Reaction Innovations program, managed by Argonne National Laboratory for the Department of Energy, is seeking innovators for its 2027 cohort to accelerate the commercialization of early-stage physical science and energy technology. This initiative embeds selected innovators within the laboratory for up to 24 months, providing access to specialized facilities, technical mentorship, and funding. Support is structured through a first-year ORISE fellowship, which includes a personal stipend, travel allowance, and health benefits, with the possibility of a second-year renewal based on a midpoint performance review. All participants must enter into a standard, non-negotiable Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) and obtain DOE approval for site access. Eligibility is limited to individuals who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents with at least five years of research and development experience; incorporated entities are prohibited from applying. Applicants are evaluated on their technical strength, entrepreneurial drive, the potential economic impact of their project concept, and the alignment of their technology with the DOE mission. Required application materials include a personal narrative, a technical vision, a business idea, a one-page resume, and a five-page technical deck, all submitted via the program's online portal. The program emphasizes high-impact innovations that enhance national, economic, and energy security.
