The U.S. AbilityOne Commission, through its designated central nonprofit agency, National Industries for the Blind (NIB), is seeking potential partners among U.S. commercial manufacturers of wallboards to establish a co-brand agreement. This initiative aims to provide employment opportunities for people who are blind or severely disabled by producing a line of co-branded wallboard products that ultimately would be placed on the AbilityOne Procurement List. The product line must include various types of wallboards such as cubicle boards, magnetic boards, cork boards, planner boards, combination boards, and freestanding easels, each meeting specific size, material, and accessory requirements. Additionally, all products must comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations and applicable federal standards. Manufacturers interested in partnering must demonstrate possession of a nationally recognized brand with significant market appeal, the ability to supply a comprehensive range of products, and a commitment to multi-year collaboration including ongoing technical support. Partners must facilitate access to competitively priced raw materials, share manufacturing expertise to support the nonprofit Lighthouse for the Blind in Seattle, and prioritize on-time delivery of materials. Further, manufacturers should be willing to collaborate closely with AbilityOne personnel to market the products fairly and reasonably to government customers. Responses addressing these criteria were due by October 18, 2017, and should be submitted electronically to the identified contact. Questions regarding the solicitation were to be directed to Judy Szabo at NIB.
