Sources Sought for Robotic Solution to Modernize the ABMC’s Robotic Headstone Program

The American Battle Monuments Commission is seeking a qualified Robot Integrator to assess and modernize its robotic headstone engraving program. This Sources Sought notice is for market research purposes to identify companies capable of providing an industrial grade robotic engraving solution for Carrara and Lasa marble, as well as flat panels for walls of the missing. The project focuses on improving the agency's ability to perform new inscriptions and re-engravings across multiple international sites. The scope of work is divided into a base requirement and three options. The base requirement involves a comprehensive analysis for replacing two existing fixed 3D robotic systems and upgrading infrastructure at the Oise Aisne and Meuse Argonne American Cemeteries in France. Option one involves analyzing a new fixed 3D robot installation in Manila, Philippines. Option two focuses on the development of mobile robotic re-engraving systems for use directly in cemetery plots, and option three is a feasibility study to consolidate operations into a single engraving center of excellence at either the Oise Aisne or Meuse Argonne locations. Deliverables for the future engagement will include in-depth pros and cons analysis, infrastructure drawings, cost and maintenance estimates, a scalable software platform, and a pumicing solution.
