Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (WIN-T) Increment 2 B16 Hardware Spot Buys This is a Request for Information (RFI) for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSS. This SSS will be used to gather market research and to make decisions regarding the development of acquisition strategies. The Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), Aberdeen Proving Ground, in support of Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) Increment 2, is considering soliciting Spot Buys for the items below used in WIN-T Increment 2, under NAICS 334290. This SSS is in support of Market Research being conducted by the Defense Logistics Agency and ILSC to identify potential manufacturing/supply sources, and if future efforts can be competitive or Set Aside for Small Business. This Sources Sought Synopsis is to notify companies that the Defense Logistics Agency and ILSC, is seeking sources for the acquisition of the exact items below or "plug and play" equivalents: 1) NSN 5996-01-617-1623, Amplifier, Radio Frequency, Part Number XTD-400KHE-B1 or Part Number: EVP270-0001-070. Quantity 4 each 2) NSN 5996-01-616-9538, Amplifier, Radio Frequency, Part Number XTLIN-110KA-B1 or Part Number: EVP270-0001-080. Quantity 4 each Both NSN 5996-01-617-1623, Amplifier, Radio Frequency and NSN 5996-01-616-9538, Amplifier, Radio Frequency are part of Satellite Transportable Terminal (SST) AN/TSC-202 High Power Amplifier. The STT-HP is designed to provide voice and data connectivity from worldwide forward locations for intra inter-theater operations. The terminal is capable of either short or long term deployment, providing high capacity reach-back services. The terminal can be operated in continuous, uninterrupted operations either manned or unmanned as required. The Satellite Transportable Terminal - High Power (STT-HP) AN/TSC-202 is a Ku-band and Ka-band satellite terminal system providing two-way digital communications. Ku-band Feed System The STT-HP has an interchangeable feed system capable of Ku-band or Ka-band operation. The feed system for Ku-band operation consists of the following components: - High Power Amplifier (HPA) with an integrated Block Upconverter (BUC) - Low Noise Block (LNB) Downconverter - Feed Boom - Feed Assembly Ku-band HPA with Integrated BUC. The HPA located on the antenna mounts, is a 400-Watt Ku-band Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) with a built in BUC. The TWTA contains a high-power traveling wave tube, high powered amplifier, various RF components, Primary Power Converter (PPC) module, high voltage power supply assembly, filament power supply assembly, and a control and logic module which controls the entire system. The upconverter translates the L-band range input frequency to the desired RF output frequency band. It accepts an L-band range signal (950 to 1450 MHz) and upconverts it to 14.0 to 14.5 GHz. The signal is then routed to the amplification stage of the unit. The output passes through the waveguide connector that attaches to the antenna feed. Ka-band Feed System The feed system for Ka-band operation consists of the following components: - Ka-band HPA with an integrated Block Upconverter (BUC) - LNB - Feed Boom - Feed Assembly Ka-band HPA with Integrated BUC. The Ka-band HPA located on the Ka feed assembly, is a 110-Watt Ka-band Amplifier with a built in BUC. The HPA contains an array of transistors arranged in a grid that amplifies the Ka-band signal to the satellite. The HPA also contains several power supplies, various RF components and a control and logic system that controls the entire system. Quantities and NSNs are subject to change. * The Government does not have in its possession technical data Interested parties please provide responses to the following questions below: 1.
