The City of Regina is providing advance notice of its intent to release a Negotiated Request for Proposals (NRFP) for construction of Phase 3 of the South Trunk utilizing trenchless construction techniques. Future proponents/contractors should be experienced in the installation of large diameter sewers by trenchless methods. Approved trenchless installation methods will be limited to the use of Pressurized Close Face Micro Tunnel Boring Machines (MTBM) with pipe jacking. Notable features and constraints of the project include: Construction crosses Government of Canada Lands, a sensitive area with increased security requirements for access if needed. Construction crosses the Royal Regina Golf Course Lands, a sensitive area where construction must have minimal impacts on operations. Crossing of mainline CPKC Railway Construction requires working in the vicinity of high voltage overhead power and a large diameter buried watermain. Sewer depths vary from approximately 8 to 11 metres below grade. Curved drives. Unless otherwise indicated, and subject to applicable exceptions and exclusions, this procurement is covered by: Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement Chapter 19 of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Article 14 of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement
