The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, RI intends to award a sole source contract to Teledyne RD Instruments, Inc., 14020 Stowe Drive, Poway, CA 92064, for the improvement of vehicle navigational accuracy through the integration of Commercial off the Shelf speed aiding sensor (AML MicroSVT&P) which will be purchased and integrated into Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) firmware. A firm fixed price (FFP) contract is anticipated. The period of performance shall be for approximately 6 months. Delivery is NUWCDIVNPT. The sole source determination is based on the fact that Teledyne RD Instruments, Inc. developed the firmware of the DVL and services are required to support development of a sound test system for testing DVL units at a range of speeds and altitudes exceeding their common operational ranges. The proposed contract action is for materials and services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NAICS Code is 334511; size standard 750 employees.
