Stanley Wakefield Wilderness Area Pollinator Habitat Project

The Stanley Wakefield Wilderness Area Pollinator Habitat Project, managed by the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District, aims to enhance existing habitat by creating additional pollinator environments for native pollinators and beneficial insects. Located in Oakdale, Stanislaus County, California, the project involves the dispersed planting of native species across 0.34 acres of the park. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District, Cramer Fish Sciences, and the City of Oakdale, building upon previous salmon restoration projects completed along the Stanislaus River. The project is classified as exempt under CEQA State Guidelines Section 15333, as it involves planting native species with no adverse impacts on surrounding land use or endangered species. A critical performance requirement is that all work must be implemented using hand labor, with a strict prohibition on the use of mechanized equipment.
