Station 14 Flooring Renovation

The San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District is soliciting bids under IFB 2627-02 for the flooring renovation of Station 14 located at 3255 Helix St., Spring Valley, California. The project requires a contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment to remove 2,277 square feet of carpet, 292 square feet of VCT, and 792 linear feet of wall base. The scope of work includes installing a finished polished concrete flooring system across 2,529 square feet, installing 792 linear feet of new black rubber wall base, and 26 linear feet of flooring transitions. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with the project being managed by Division Chief Brian Lieberman. Bidders must submit a sealed hard copy package by November 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. PST, including a completed bid form, bid security, and several mandatory certifications. Required documentation includes certifications for workers compensation, asbestos-free materials, recycled content, a drug-free workplace, and California Air Resources Board compliance, as well as registration as a public works contractor. The selected contractor must adhere to prevailing wage rates, provide performance and payment bonds, and ensure all work complies with ADA regulations. Additionally, the contractor must coordinate high-noise activities to avoid interfering with firefighter rest periods and ensure that emergency response capabilities and apparatus routes remain unobstructed at all times.
