Stone Beetland 69 kilovolt (kV) Project

The Stone Beetland 69kV Project, managed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), involves upgrading existing lower voltage infrastructure and constructing new 69kV lines around the Stone Beetland development in the Meadowview neighborhood of Sacramento, California. The scope of work includes upgrading approximately 0.55 mile of existing 12kV overhead line along the northern boundary with stronger, taller poles and a 69kV circuit, as well as installing approximately 950 feet of new overhead 69kV line with three new wood or metal poles along the western boundary. The project will tie into existing 69kV lines on Cosumnes River Boulevard to improve regional electric system reliability, operational flexibility, and capacity for future load growth. Construction is scheduled to take place during daylight hours, beginning in March 2026 and concluding by July 2026. The project is classified under NAICS code 237130 and has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Sections 15301, 15302, and 15303, confirming that no further environmental review is required.
