STORZ Operating Room Training System

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD - SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) has a requirement to train personnel in operating room procedures. To satisfy this requirement the Product Manager Office of Medical Simulation (PdM MedSim) specified the STORZ OR Training System. The STORZ OR Training Systems contains the exact operating room equipment currently found in the Orlando VAMC. Precise training of all operating room techniques shall be performed using the STORZ OR Training System to be an exact replica of the Orlando VAMC operating room equipment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339113 - Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. It is anticipated that the contract type will be a single award Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. This requirement is to purchase the following items: 1. STORZ OR Integration Equipment System 2. STORZ Anesthesia Equipment System 3. STORZ ENT/Pulmonary Equipment System 4. STORZ OR Camera, Uro, GYN, Thoracoscopy Equipment System ACQUISITION APPROACH: The contract will be issued on a Sole Source basis in accordance with Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in Federal Regulation Acquisition (FAR) 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to award a contract to Karl Storz Endoscopy-America Inc., 2151 Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245. NOTICE: This notice is being provided to verify that no other sources can meet this requirement given the Government's required delivery schedule to meet the current need for these items.
