Full Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue a sole-source, firm fixed priced purchase order, to R.S. Means Company, to renew an electronic resource entitled CostWorks2009. Access to CostWorks2009 provides the following online digital book titles: Building Construction Cost Data; Site Work & Landscape; Concrete & Masonry Cost; Residential Repair & Remodel; Facilities Maintenance & Repair; Facilities Construction Cost; Repair & Remodeling Cost; Assemblies Cost; Green Project Planning; Estimator; Heavy Construction Cost; Residential Cost; Bldg Construction Cost (Metric); Commercial Square Foot Cost; Bldg Construction Cost Open Shop; Light Commercial Cost; Mechanical Cost; Interior Cost; Electrical Cost and Plumbing Cost. The period of performance will be for 12-months beginning January 1, 2009 Through December 31, 2009. Under FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This requirement is utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with procedures under FAR Part 13. R.S. Means Company is the only known source that can provide online comprehensive accurate and up-to-date construction cost information for users such as: architects and engineers to project and control building and renovation costs Requests for copies of a solicitation in response will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If no affirmative responses are received within 3 business days of this notice negotiations will be conducted with R.S. Means Company. A purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted. Respondents should refer to 0919-09-1002.
