MODIFICATION P0001 TO COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION Q9833090110. The following are contractor questions and their Government replies: 1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Please contract your end user and clarify how much of the quick hitch is needed. Controls in the cab etc. Do they want the whole coupler or just the hooks so they can mount it on the coupler? GOVERNMENT REPLY: The Government requires the loader quick connect frame and plumbing back to the 3rd valve. Our loaders are currently each equipped with a quick connect system and a 3rd valve. Our assessment leads us to believe that our loaders quick coupler / 3rd valve combination will allow us to operate efficiently without needing a 4th valve installation. The Government requires the whole coupler, both the loader frame and the hook blanks for the bucket. 2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: I just need to know if your 962 & 972 loaders have this Cat Work Tools Fusion quick couplers on them already or if they need to be supplied along with the plow? If the couplers are already on the loaders, are the dimensions of the hooks the same for both? The way I am reading this bid is that you want the plow to include hooks to hook up directly to the couplers that are already on both loaders, correct? I need to know how the buckets hook up to your loaders?, are they pin-on or do they hook up to this coupler system? GOVERNMENT REPLY: The loaders do not have the fusion coupler installed at this time. We're asking to purchase a 972 loader fusion coupler frame shipped for our installation, and the 6-way plow fitted with the installed hook assembly. We'll need the loader quick connect frame and plumbing / hardware back to the 3rd valve. Our loaders are currently each equipped with a Cat quick connect system and a 3rd valve. Our assessment has us believing that our loaders quick coupler / 3rd valve combination will allow us to operate efficiently without needing a 4th valve installation. We want one complete fusion coupler, both the loader frame (packaged and shipped) and the hook blanks installed with the plow. Our overall plan is to convert all our loader fleet to the fusion coupler system so we have a universal coupler that fits all our buckets and work tools. The purpose of this purchase request is to purchase a fusion quick connect loader frame and hardware fitting a Cat 972 loader, and at the same time purchasing a 6-way plow with an installed fusion coupler hook set fitting the 972 loader frame.
