Full Description

CalMat Co. dba Vulcan Materials Company, Western Division (Applicant) has applied to the County of Fresno Department of Public Works and Planning for an amendment to Conditional Use Permit (CUP) No. 3103 to modify certain components of the project, which will require modification of the existing Reclamation Plan for the Sanger-Centerville Aggregate Operations (Sanger Facility), an existing aggregate (rock, sand, and gravel) mining and processing operation. The Proposed Project would allow temporary dewatering and dry mining methods at excavation depths greater than approximately 65 feet below ground surface (bgs) within the North and South Excavation Areas (collectively, the Project Site) and would reduce the maximum anticipated excavation depth within the Project Site from 150 feet bgs to 125 feet bgs. The Project also includes amendments to the existing Reclamation Plan to reflect the proposed operational changes and streamline certain excavation and reclamation phases. The Proposed Project would modify the previously approved CUP No. 3103 and the associated Reclamation Plan, most recently amended in 2015.
