The 20th Contracting Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, awarded a sole source purchase order to SyncSort Incorporated for the procurement of proprietary software licenses and maintenance renewals for USAFCENT A60. This award was executed under the authority of FAR 8.405-6, utilizing Required Sources of Supplies and Services and Ordering Procedures for Federal Supply Schedules. The government determined that competition was not feasible due to the proprietary nature of the software, which is designed, sold, and maintained exclusively by SyncSort Incorporated, and the significant cost and risk associated with transitioning to an alternative platform. The contract, identified by solicitation number FA4803-12-Q-A031 and NAICS code 511210, carries an estimated base year cost of 99,282.53 dollars with one additional option year. The procurement process was finalized in late 2011, with the Justification and Approval document dated June 30, 2011. Administrative inquiries regarding this purchase are directed to 2d Lt Matthew Albers.
