The government intends to award a sole source contract to Maxtown Medical LLC for the procurement of a Modern Surgical Instruments Long Bookwalter Set. This acquisition is necessary to support upcoming general and neurosurgical procedures scheduled to begin on May 31, 2017, at Wright Patterson AFB. The requirement consists of various sizes of radiolucent Kelly blades, with a delivery deadline of May 25, 2017. This procurement is not being competed because the medical facility already possesses the MSI Retractor Ring, which is only compatible with MSI Radiolucent Kelly Blades. Additionally, the Maxtown Medical system is the only one the performing surgeons are trained to use for these specific spinal procedures. Awards will be based on technical capability and price, and the contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management.
