Taxi Access Program

Frederick County offers specialized transportation services for senior citizens aged 60 and above, as well as persons with disabilities, through its Transit Services of Frederick County's Transit-plus program. To enhance this service, the county has allocated funding for a Taxi Access Program (TAP) that provides additional transportation options within the county limits. TAP is designed exclusively for seniors and persons with disabilities who are pre-registered with the Transit-plus service, with eligibility confirmed by the TAP Manager at TSFC. The transportation coverage is organized based on a zoning system determined by zip codes, with zones A and B differentiating coverage areas within the county. The contract, issued under solicitation number 26-258, is managed by the Maryland Division of Transit Services with its office located in Frederick, Maryland. The solicitation was posted on December 16, 2025, and responses are due by January 26, 2026. The contract aims to supplement existing transit services to better accommodate the transportation needs of vulnerable populations within Frederick County.
