The USDA Agricultural Research Service has issued a sole-source, firm-fixed-price delivery order to Siemens Industry, Inc. for technical support and software maintenance of the Siemens Building Technologies Control System and Apogee Software. This procurement was conducted as a limited-source action because the system's software code and data are proprietary, making Siemens the only source capable of meeting the government's requirements without incurring excessive costs for modifications. The contract covers 105 DDC controllers and nine Apogee licenses at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Maryland. The scope of work includes 24/7 coverage for routine, corrective, and emergency maintenance, encompassing software updates, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and component replacement. The agreement is structured with a one-year base period and a one-year option period. Managed under NAICS code 334512, the contract ensures the continued operational integrity of essential building control systems through a combination of fixed-price services and an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity arrangement for emergency repairs.
