The contract involves the design and installation of a comprehensive technology infrastructure upgrade at the Carrington-Scott Campus in Graham, North Carolina. The project includes two main components: the development of an underground conduit system providing at least two separate and independent connectivity paths to each campus building, ensuring robust and resilient physical network pathways through directional boring, trenching, and conduit installation, along with necessary access points like pull boxes and handholes, followed by restoration of all disturbed surfaces. The second component focuses on the design and deployment of a redundant 24-strand single-mode fiber optic network running through the new conduit infrastructure, with all fiber strands terminated, tested, and connected to the college’s two on-campus data centers, creating a fault-tolerant architecture to eliminate any single points of failure. The solicitation, identified as Technology Infrastructure Replacement Project SCO#28434, is issued by Alamance Community College in North Carolina, with responses due by early June 2026. The work is categorized under a state and local government agency, with the primary point of contact being Thomas Hartman. This project aims to significantly enhance the campus's connectivity and network reliability through a strategically designed conduit and fiber optic system that supports redundancy and continuity of network operations across all campus buildings.

The Project consists of two integrated work elements: Campus Conduit Infrastructure: Design of a diverse underground conduit pathway system providing a minimum of 2 separate and independent connectivity paths to each building on the Carrington-Scott Campus at 1247 Jimmie Kerr Road, Graham, NC, linking all campus buildings to a central distribution point(s). Work includes, but is not limited to, directional boring, trenching, conduit installation, pull boxes, handholes, and restoration of all disturbed surfaces. Fiber Optic Network: Design of a redundant 24-strand single-mode fiber optic (SMF) network operating over the newly installed conduit system, with all strands terminated, tested and connected to both of the College’s on-campus data centers (Located in T Bldg and Main Bldg). The network architecture shall provide fully redundant pathways to eliminate single points of failure.
