The following questions are for market research for the television service to be provided to Nellis AFB and Creech AFB. If you are interested in providing this service, can you please provide information in the following areas? Thank you in advance. 1. What type of service medium do you plan to provide/use? Satellite, IPTV, fiber optics, cables, other? Please note that service must be provided to both Nellis AFB and Creech AFB which are geographically separated by approximately 55 miles. 2. What is the intended set-up/installation time? Target award date is 1 May 2010 The service start date must be on 01 October 2010. Will you be able to develop an implementation plan? Does 01 October 2010 (five months from notification) sound like an accurate start date? 3. How will your choice of service medium affect our future to upgrade? Are you aware of any direction the television service industry is moving? For example, will fiber optic cables be able to be upgraded and provide service ten years in the future? Again, for example, is IPTV strongly becoming the industry choice of service medium? 4. What is your intended process for medium installation? Do we purchase the equipment or is the - lease/rental' included in a monthly service fee? Who will own the equipment once it is installed in place, and who will pay for removal at contract completion. 5. Can you estimate the fees for the service and equipment per month? We have approximately 1550 television service drops. This number may adjust before a solicitation is issued. In addition, please list estimated fees for installation of new drops, trenching, dish installation, or anything else that may be required to do an installation. Please mention if - new installations' are per building, per room, or per television set. 6. Please list the channel line ups that you have available. Please also list the most common groupings of channels that you provide. In our solicitation we plan to ask for different channel groupings in different buildings. In addition, please let me know if any channels can be substituted/changed if the cost is similar. 7. Finally, we require a relatively small number of internet drops. The estimated number of internet drops is 8. Please let me know if your method of television service can provide internet service as well. If it cannot, would you be able to, and interested in, providing internet service through an alternate method. Thank you very much in advance for your response. If any information is required, please contact me. Again, please note this information is used for planning purposes and is not a solicitation. A solicitation is planned, and a site visit will be set prior to the issuance of a solicitation.
