The Temporary Fire Station 9 (project) will be used as interim housing and maintain uninterrupted emergency response services for Fire Station 9 personnel, apparatus, and equipment during demolition and reconstruction of the existing station located at 209 Center Avenue, Pacheco, CA 94553. The project will operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, for approximately two years during construction of the replacement Fire Station 9. The project will consist of an approximately 3,000-square-foot prefabricated stressed membrane apparatus structure; a one-story, approximately 1,500-square-foot, prefabricated modular living quarters building; a 200-square-foot Conex storage container; four parking spaces (one ADA-accessible and three staff parking spaces); and new chain-link security fencing with vehicle and personnel access gates. The prefabricated stressed membrane apparatus structure will be used for the storage and protection of two fire engines and associated emergency response equipment. The prefabricated modular living quarters will contain firefighter sleeping quarters, a kitchen, dining and dayroom space, restrooms, laundry facilities, office space, and support areas. The Conex container will serve as supplemental storage for firefighter gear, equipment, and supplies. Additional site improvements such as utility connections, lighting, and circulation areas will be added as necessary to support continuous fire station operations. Construction is anticipated to begin in March 2027 and take approximately 3 months for completion. Real property transactions, including but not limited to, leases, right-of-way acquisition and permanent and temporary easements may be needed. Utility relocations may be necessary to support this project. Utility connections to existing water, sewer, electrical, and stor.m drain lines in the project area will be required. Ground disturbance and excavations to a maximum depth of 6 feet are anticipated for utility trenching. Appropriate Best Management Practices for water pollution control will be implemented. Night or weekend work may occur. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Upon completion of the replacement Fire Station 9, operations would transition to the new facility.
