Stony Brook University Hospital plans to acquire Penumbra Thrombectomy Products through a procurement process authorized under New York State law, which allows purchases from a consortium or similar entity without a formal competitive bidding process when justified by favorable pricing. The contract is aligned with the existing GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) agreement, specifically contract number PP-CA-695, covering the period from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2027, with potential extension if the GPO contract is renewed. The procurement is limited to vendors interested in supplying equivalent products, with Penumbra Inc. having been awarded similar contracts within the past five years. Vendors must adhere to strict communication protocols under the NYS Lobbying Law, with all contact limited to the designated procurement officer, Jessica Gruzo, and must submit necessary compliance documents, including vendor responsibility and tax forms. The procurement is targeted for the Suffolk County area and involves goods valued between $500,000 and $2,000,000. The due date for bid submissions is December 27, 2024, by 4:00 PM. This initiative is not set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The process emphasizes compliance with state laws and regulations, ensuring only eligible vendors who meet legal and administrative requirements can participate. Interested vendors can contact the designated procurement officer for further discussion and are encouraged to review the posted solicitation details online.
