TIMBER SALE at Naval Air Station Meridian (MAIN BASE) Lauderdale County, Mississippi

The Department of the Navy, through Navfacsyscom Southeast, is soliciting bids for the purchase and removal of merchantable timber on approximately 118 acres at Naval Air Station Meridian's Main Base in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. This is a per unit ton sale conducted as an Invitation for Bids, where the contract will be awarded to the responsible purchaser providing the highest bid. The scope of work includes the felling and removal of various timber products, including significant volumes of Pine Sawtimber, Hardwood Pulpwood, and Pine Topwood, among others. The term of the contract is 18 months from the date of award, and the property is offered on an as is and where is basis. Bidders must submit paper bids by November 12, 2026, including a bid deposit of at least 20 percent of the full bid price. The successful purchaser is required to provide a performance bond equal to 10 percent of the contract price within ten days of the award. Comprehensive insurance requirements are mandatory, including one million dollars in general liability and specific automobile and worker's compensation coverage.
