Tipton Community Services District Well No. 6 Equipping and Distribution System Connection Project

The proposed Project consists of equipping a previously drilled well with a pump and associated appurtenances and connecting the well to the Tipton Community Services District's existing water distribution system. Work will include installation of a 75-horsepower well pump equipped with a variable-frequency drive (VFD) and related appurtenances, construction of approximately 30 feet of piping to connect the well to the existing distribution system, and minor trenching and backfilling as necessary. Construction is expected to take approximately 20 working days. Once completed, the previously drilled well will be available to supply water through the District's existing municipal water system. The Project would improve the reliability and redundancy of the District’s existing water system and would not expand the District’s service area or provide water for a specific development project. No new well drilling is proposed. The Project would occur at the site of an existing, previously drilled municipal well and would involve a limited area of temporary ground disturbance. Disturbed surfaces would be restored following installation. The Project would not affect a designated sensitive environmental resource, scenic highway, hazardous-waste site identified pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5, or historical resource. There are no unusual circumstances associated with the project that would create a reasonable possibility of a significant environmental effect, and the project would not contribute to a significant cumulative impact from successive projects of the same type in the same place. Therefore, none of the exceptions in CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2 applies.
