Under the direction of the Ministry Representative, the objective of this opportunity it to complete 3 Fuel Management Prescriptions within the Cariboo Chilcotin Natural Resource District, Williams Lake area. The recce locations are within the Dog Creek, Esler, and Dugan Lake area and range in size from 12 hectares to 65 hectares. They are located within the Interior Douglas-Fir (Dry Cool) Biogeoclimatic Subzone. The Dog Creek and Esler location were identified through the Wiliams Lake Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Risk Reduction Plan, while the Dugan Lake location is derived from the 2016 Fuel Treatment Opportunities Mapping & previous Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The Dugan Lake projection location is within the a Primary Fuel Break, which has been recently harvested by BC Timber Sales. The final fuel treatment units must be designed to support suppression activities by being anchored, accessible, and defendable following the current Fuel Management Prescription Template Guidance document available on the Tools for Fuel Management website.
