Full Description

Solar or photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems have been installed at various schools on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai. The PV/battery system consists of solar panels, inverters, battery banks, controllers, and other related components to supply and provide power to the school. The PV/battery system, after complete installation, comes with a one (1) year workmanship warranty along with one (1) to twenty-five (25) years of manufacturer’s warranty for PV solar cells, PV modules inverters, battery banks, and other components. Once the workmanship warranty is over, repair and/or maintenance of the PV system becomes HIDOE’s responsibility. In the event a PV/battery system breaks down and/or malfunctions, the HIDOE will collect information and may authorize repair or maintenance, including other related remedial work, using the selected contractor for each geographic area from this solicitation. The intent of the repair or maintenance and other remedial work, if authorized by the Contract Administrator (CA) or Point of Contact (POC), is to restore the full functionality of the PV and battery system.
