The National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Winnipeg site, is seeking to acquire a Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). TGA is employed to monitor the changing of the mass of a sample material over time as the temperature changes. This instrument investigates degradation mechanisms and reaction kinetics and determines organic and inorganic content in a sample. The TGA is used to analyze thermal properties of thermoplastic and thermoset polymers, composites, polymer blends, multilayer polymer films and laminates, organic and inorganic substances, and various chemicals that can exhibit either mass loss or gain due to decomposition, oxidation, or loss of volatiles, such as moisture.
The work consists of supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of the system and all accessories at the NRC address and training on equipment use; all of the work must be completed by December 15, 2023.
