This contract is a firm-fixed price procurement for a Tool Kit, Tubing designed specifically for use with standardized Air Force equipment, identified by NSN 5130-01-259-9880 and part number R27500NA-SP-01. The kit includes specialized tooling and gages necessary for mechanically attaching Dynatube fittings to tubing, integral to maintenance and repair of proprietary connectors on the B1 Bomber aircraft. The tooling is tailored to meet the demanding conditions of high temperature and pressure required in aerospace fluid and pneumatic systems, with Dynatube being a proprietary and patented design. Due to the proprietary nature of the technical data, the contract is set as a sole or limited source requirement, with Parker Hannifin Corporation in Jacksonville, FL, identified as the only or limited responsible source. The contract calls for a quantity of one unit, with all assets to be shipped FOB Origin. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued around March 12, 2010, with proposals due within 30 days of issuance. While the solicitation will not be publicly posted on the federal business opportunities website, potential offerors can request a copy via email or fax from the designated contracting specialist. The nature of the procurement limits competition to qualified sources with access to necessary proprietary data, ensuring that all responsible parties have an opportunity to submit their bids or proposals for consideration. The primary points of contact for this procurement are the contracting specialist, Kyle L. Hering, and the contracting officer, Kathryn G. Canady.
