AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 423rd SCMS Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the procurement of the Torque Limiter Assembly, identified by NSN 1680-01-148-1999RK and part number NF53400-01A, for the B-1 platform. This effort is a Sources Sought synopsis issued under FAR Part 10, with no current solicitation or funding available; it is solely intended to assess industry capability and determine the optimal acquisition strategy, including the feasibility of a Small Business Set-Aside. Interested vendors must register via the designated button to be considered for this market research phase, and responses will not be treated as proposals or commitments to award a contract. The requirement calls for new manufacture of 15 units, encompassing full production capabilities including component procurement, inspection, testing, packaging, shipping, supply chain management, and addressing diminishing manufacturing sources and long-lead items, with potential nonrecurring engineering costs associated with qualification. The NAICS code 336413 applies, with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and the Government encourages participation from all business categories including small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone businesses, and women-owned small businesses. The place of performance is Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, and all communications must be directed to the workflow email provided. Responses are due by August 15, 2026, Central Standard Time, and failure to register as an interested vendor will exclude consideration. No contract award is anticipated from this notice, and the information collected will inform future procurement decisions, including potential segmentation by airframe.
