Full Description

The Town of Stony Plain is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide services for detailed design and tender support for various pedestrian crosswalk safety improvements and traffic calming measures throughout the town. Each year, the Town receives and tracks a number of transportation safety concerns. These concerns include, but are not limited to, sightline obstructions, speeding, inadequate pedestrian crossing opportunities, non-compliant signage or pavement markings, insufficient lighting, sidewalk discontinuities, accessibility barriers, and driver yielding or compliance issues. The consultant will act as a trusted advisor to the Town and provide professional support in reviewing and assessing such safety concerns, as required, over the term of the contract. It is the intention of the Town that the term of agreement be for a period of two (2) years covering the 2026 and 2027 project years, with an option in favour of the Town to extend the Contract on the same terms of conditions for up to one (1) additional one-year term. The 2027 project year and optional extension term are subject to satisfactory performance of the successful proponent and Council approval of funding.
