The Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee intends to award a sole source contract to Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. located in Leonia, New Jersey, for the purchase of specific pressure transducers. The contract requires thirty-two XCS-093B-15A pressure transducers equipped with B screen and eighteen XCS-093A-15A pressure transducers with A screen. These sensors must feature internal temperature compensation ranging from 80 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and use Teflon cables to ensure high accuracy within critical testing environments. The sole source award is justified under FAR 6.302-1, indicating the supplies are only available from this single source, and no solicitation package will be formally issued. Although the contract is intended for sole source award, other interested parties may express interest by submitting detailed product descriptions, including make and model numbers, pricing, and warranty information, for consideration in determining whether a competitive procurement is warranted. Responses must be received by 2:00 p.m. CST on August 30, 2012; however, award decisions will not be based on these responses alone. If no suitable alternatives emerge, the contract will be directly negotiated with Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. The ombudsman for this action is Michael Covington, with contact details provided for inquiries, and the contract specialists managing the process include Burnice D. Banaszak and Robert A. Greene. The place of performance is noted as Silver Spring, Maryland.
