AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 423rd SCMS Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the manufacture and procurement of spare parts for the Transmission, Mechan component on the B-1 platform, identified by NSN 1680-01-142-7635RK and Part Number NF53300-02A. This effort is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10, not a solicitation or binding contract opportunity, and no funds are currently available. The government seeks information from all types of businesses, including small businesses, disadvantaged firms, veteran-owned concerns, HUBZone entities, and women-owned businesses, to assess market capabilities and determine if the requirement can be competitively sourced or set aside. The estimated need is for 45 units, with potential responsibilities including new manufacture of components, inspection, testing, packaging, shipping, supply chain management, and addressing diminishing manufacturing sources or long-lead parts. Responses must be submitted via the “Add Me to Interested Vendors” button on the platform, with no direct requests for solicitations permitted. The NAICS code 336413 applies, with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and performance will be at Tinker AFB, OK. The procurement timeline is governed by Central Standard Time, with responses due by September 4, 2026. The primary point of contact for inquiries is the 423rd SCMS team via email at 423scms.guea.workflow@us.af.mil. The Government will use the information gathered to inform its acquisition strategy, potentially breaking the requirement down by airframe, but no award is anticipated based on this market research action alone.
