This acquisition involves a requirements-type contract with a three-year ordering period to supply commercial vehicles and trailers in direct support of a Foreign Military Sales case for the Royal Saudi Air Force. The equipment will be procured from sources within Saudi Arabia and delivered FOB Destination to the RSAF Depot Supply at King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran. The effort will be competitively awarded under full and open competition, following the issuance of a solicitation expected approximately 15-30 days from the noticed date. A draft Statement of Work was initially provided to encourage early industry involvement and improve understanding of the Government’s requirements, with opportunities for questions and comments submitted in writing to designated contacts. The initial synopsis for the requirement was canceled due to the customer withdrawing the requirement but was later reestablished and will be competed under a new solicitation number reflecting the fiscal year of issuance. Interested parties were informed to register for notifications on the Federal Business Opportunities website for updates and amendments. The solicitation documents and related communications emphasize commercial procurement practices consistent with FAR guidelines, with illustrative images in the SOW not representing exact brand models unless specified. No hard copies of solicitation documents will be provided, and all procurement identifiers comply with federal regulations regarding fiscal year numbering.

***UPDATE*** 8-Dec-2017 The subject synopsis was cancelled as a result of the customer cancelling the requirement. However, the customer has recently decided to reestablish the requirement. This requirement will now be competed. In accordance with FAR 4.1603(a)(2), positions 7 through 8 of the procurement instrument identifier (PIID) must be the last two digits of the fiscal year in which the procurement instrument is issued or awarded.
